In the blazing heat of summer in Manila, members of La Salle Computer Society (LSCS) decide to turn it up and bring their own kind of flair in this summer weather. On June 9, La Salle Computer Society (LSCS) held its 3rd General Assembly for A.Y. 2016-2017. The sights and sounds you can imagine from a tropical paradise was simulated within the room L315 or more commonly known as the “Bean Bag Room”. From torches to totems, an array of tropical themed props designed the room, welcoming the participants to a change of environment upon entering the venue.
The assembly was headed by Dana Aquino and Kirstin Te, both officers of the Human Resource Development (HRD) committee of LSCS with the aim of strengthening the bond of the whole organization. The tropical theme, together with the activities prepared, was a perfect combination for the members to not only enjoy the activity, but also help them unwind from the stressful college environment. The general assembly not only included activities but also served to inform members of the various plans LSCS has. 2 flagship events were mentioned, namely SPARK and Technology Summit.
To warm up the vibe of the event even more, the project heads held games that had the participants group together and work together to win games and prizes. A display of teamwork, determination, and camaraderie filled the atmosphere of the room. In the end, everyone was the winner after pizza and candy were given after the games. The general assembly was an avenue for LSCS to reach out to all of its members, and connected them whether they were long standing officers or new members through the fun activities and event updates which resulted in a more united LSCS.
